Transition
Moving to a large secondary school is a significant step for any child, and at Coedcae, we are dedicated to making this transition as smooth as possible. We understand the importance of building on the strong foundations set in primary schools and ensure that our pupils feel supported from day one.
Several members of our Coedcae staff work closely with partner primary schools, delivering tailored programmes to help pupils feel prepared and confident. For those joining us from other schools, we make special transition arrangements to ensure they are welcomed and supported.
In the autumn term, Year 6 pupils are invited to Coedcae for three exciting taster days, where they can experience life at the school firsthand. A fourth taster day is held in July for pupils who have been awarded a place. These sessions, along with numerous other opportunities throughout the school year, help to familiarise students with their new environment.
Our goal is to ensure every pupil feels welcome, valued, and confident in their new school. We believe that a happy child is one who will thrive academically, and we are committed to making this transition a positive and successful experience for all.
