Welsh Baccalaureate Launch Week

Year 9 pupils had an excellent opportunity before the half term holidays to participate in a number of activities contributing to the Welsh Baccalaureate course. The year 9 timetable was collapsed for a week allowing pupils to gain an insight into the course and to participate in a number of community and enterprise activities.

The week involved a visit to the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, an enterprise competition where pupils had to design and complete a business plan for their chosen product, along with various community participation events; such as, bag packing at Tesco, gardening at Ty'r Gelli sheltered accommodation, plus supporting the 'Clean up Carmarthenshire' and 'Keep Wales Tidy' campaigns.

Pupils begin their year 10 curriculum after the half term holidays, and are extremely enthused to do so.
